Bourriaud, Nicolas

biography

Nicolas Bourriaud is a French curator and art critic specialising in contemporary art. In 1996, he curated the “Traffic” exhibition at the CAPC in Bordeaux, which brought to light a new generation of artists around the notion of relational aesthetics, explained in his eponymous book in 1998. The notions of relationship, connection and composition are central to his work, which he develops in his activities as director of institutions, curator and author throughout the world.
